In our data privacy statement, we provide you with information about the processing of your personal data within the scope of our website.

We at DTC consider it a matter of course to handle your personal data responsibly whenever you use our webpages and communicate with us by electronic means. We take all the required measures to protect the personal data provided by you and to comply with applicable national and European data protection regulations at all times. The collection, processing and use of the data by DTC is exclusively based on applicable legal provisions, in particular in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council dated 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC – GDPR), the Data Privacy Act 2018 (DSG 2018), the Privacy and Electronic Communications Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council dated July 12, 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector – ePrivacy Directive) and the Telecommunications Act (TKG 2003), as well as any other applicable regulations under Union law.

Purpose of data processing

This data will be statistically analyzed in order to modify our website according to the users’ needs, to optimize the user friendliness of our website, to improve the services offered on the website, to identify any errors more quickly, and consequently optimize the website, as well as to control server capacities. Your IP address (internet identifier of your computer, consisting of numbers) will not be analyzed by us. Accordingly, the usage data will not deliberately be linked up with personal data at any time.

Your data will not be stored.

Legal basis

The legal basis for the processing of access data according to Art 6 (1) (f) GDPR is the legitimate interest (online service offer and data security) of DTC.

The contact form available on our homepage dtc.de serves to establish contact and/or to submit your remarks.

Personal data

You need to enter some data to establish contact. Specifically, also personal data will be processed and stored in the process, namely

Purpose of data processing

The data will be used to process your inquiry and to get into contact with you in this respect.

Legal basis

The legal basis for data processing to handle your inquiry is the legitimate interest (adequate relationship with contact person) of DTC acc. to Art 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Potentially, the inquiry may also be considered as a pre-contractual measure or be associated with a contract (Art 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

Data recipients

For the above mentioned reasons your data may be sent also to the respective subsidiary of DTC.

Storage period

The data processed for the above-stated purposes will basically be stored until your inquiry has been processed. Moreover, only the data absolutely required will be stored based on applicable legal provisions or retention obligations. Should your inquiry relate to the performance of our contract, the data shall be stored for a maximum of seven years (§§ 212 UGB [Austrian Business Code], 132 BAO [Austrian Tax Code]).

Data processing for track & trace/webOrder

After registering through our sales department on our homepage dtc.de, you can obtain information about the status of your shipments (national and international land transports) and about orders (inbound and outbound). You can also commission a transport.

Personal data

During transmission of the form for registration, all data entered by you will be stored, namely:

  • company name
  • master customer number (mandatory)
  • other customer numbers
  • first name and surname (mandatory)
  • e-mail (mandatory)
  • telephone number
  • address (street, ZIP code, city/town)
  • country
  • allocation of registration to iSIS or iWIS

Purpose of data processing

The data will be used to track where your shipment is at the respective moment; to obtain information about your warehouse activities and to manage your customer/partner account.

Legal basis

The legal basis for data processing to track shipments, to access warehouse activities and to manage customer/partner accounts is the contract between DTC and yourself that is associated with the service (Art 6 (1) (b) GDPR).

Data recipients

For the above mentioned reasons your data may be sent also to the respective parent company (Gebrüder Weiss) of DTC.


Storage period

The personal data will be stored for the duration of valid registration and then deleted. Moreover, only the data absolutely required will be stored based on applicable legal provisions or retention obligations.

Licensed photos/use of images

Individual photos on the website originate from the following agencies: gettyimages.com, shutterstock.com, istockphoto.com and fotolia.com. We dispose of license agreements of the providers for the relevant rights of use.

Storage period

At DTC, your personal data will be stored for varying periods – depending on the necessity and the purpose – (see the information above)

Deletion of the data shall be effected as described above, unless any legal retention obligations (under business and/or tax law) exist.

Based on applicable legal provisions (§ 212 UGB, § 132 BAO etc) we are obliged, among others, to store certain personal data for a minimum period of seven years. This concerns the following data:

  • surname
  • ZIP code
  • city/town
  • country
  • invoice and delivery address
  • means of payment
  • client number
  • order number
  • name of company and UID number, if applicable

Based on applicable legal provisions under §§ 933, 933a, 1486, 1489 ABGB (Austrian Civil Code), we are obliged, among others, to store certain personal data for a minimum period of 3years. This concerns the following data:

  • salutation
  • title
  • date of birth
  • telephone number
  • user name
  • e-mail address:
  • password

 

Data security

Security measures implemented

DTC takes measures to ensure an appropriate level of protection with respect to data processing security acc. to Art 25 and Art 32 GDPR.

We have taken comprehensive security measures to protect your data against unauthorized third-party access. In doing so, we use a data protection management system as well as ISO 27001 certification.

Please note, however, that it is equally important to protect your computer against unauthorized access, for instance by only allowing trustworthy third parties to use the same and by always using up-to-date firewall and antivirus software, and by checking your e-mails for authenticity and reliability (phishing mails).

Exclusion of liability

No liability shall be assumed for any loss caused due to the fact that you fail to adequately protect your computer against third-party access.

You are entitled to demand information as to whether any personal data is processed that relates to you. Moreover, you are entitled to request further information about the specific purposes of data processing, the categories of personal data, the recipients or categories of recipients of personal data, the storage period, the existence of any right to erasure or rectification of your personal data, the existence of any right to lodge a complaint, as well as with respect to all available information about the source of your data.

You have the right to demand immediate erasure of your personal data.

Right to restriction of processing (Art 18 GDPR)

In the instances listed in Art 18 GDPR (for instance, the accuracy of the personal data is contested by you or the processing is unlawful), you are entitled to demand restriction of data processing.

Right to data portability (Art 20 GDPR)

You are entitled to receive the personal data about you, which you have provided to us, in a commonly used structured format and to demand that we transmit said data to another controller.

Measures in connection with automated decisions in individual instances, including profiling (Art 22 GDPR)

In instances of automated decision-making, including profiling, you are entitled – provided that the relevant measure has any legal effect on you or considerably affects you in any similar way – to make any other person intervene on the part of the controller, to explain your point of view and to challenge the decision.
